LECTIO DIVINA a ROMA

Lectio Divina is an area of the Bible which can be researched, and such research is going on in Rome. Lectio Divina, of course, is an ancient way of "reading" the Scriptures. As such it is eminently qualified to take its place along more modern approaches

"Ait illis: ideo omnis scriba doctus in regno caelorum similis est homini patrifamilias, qui profert de thesauro suo nova et vetera" (Mt 13,52) |
where the possibility of research is obvious. For Lectio Divina aims at arriving at the religious dimension of a biblical text, and this goal should be part of any purely "scientific" study of the Bible, because the reli- gious dimension is intrinsic to every Biblical text!
